Localive

Localive is an interactive music app that is designed to be a platform for local musicians to showcase their music online. It functions like a traditional music app allowing users to save and search songs, create unique playlists and customize their own profile. Localive also has a feature that filters the search based on a users location so the user can listen to music directly from their local area! Users can post their own song or full length album directly from their profile page. View the live prototype below.

Process

The goal for me in this project is to create a unique, interactive music app. I was initially inspired by Spotify and made my first design very futuristic, modern and edgy. With a heavy use of black and white to add drama. Then, I decided to step outside my comfort zone with a neutral aesthetic. I used natural tones such as beige, brown and grey. Then decided to add a little edge with the logo consisting of two hands surrounding a crystal ball of flames. I chose to go with my neutral aesthetic but used the futuristic font of my initial variation.
